How it works

A clear path, whether you own the boat or step aboard.

Create a free account, complete your sailing CV, and use the same marketplace to list a boat or charter one.

Offer a boat for charter

List your boat and stay in control of every request.

The decision to allow someone to charter your boat is entirely yours.

01

Create an account

Create an account simply and free of charge. Complete your profile and your sailing CV.

02

Publish your listing

Choose your boat type and complete the form. Use Register your boat in the header. Add the best photos you have and a clear description, then publish it for the community.

03

Manage your bookings

Reply to members who message you and agree the charter details. The hirer requests the booking on the website and authorises payment. If you accept within 24 hours, the booking is confirmed. Check their sailing CV first.

04

Meet your hirers

Once you accept, you receive the hirer’s phone number and email so you can agree the meeting point, the hire contract, the pre-charter inventory and the handover of the keys. The charter payment is marked for transfer to you at the start of the hire.

05

Rate them

After the charter, rate the hirer’s sailing skills, responsibility and pleasantness so other owners can read the record when they consider a request.

Contact the owner and create an account

Create a free account, complete your profile and sailing CV, then message the owner about how the charter works and whether the dates are suitable.

03

04

Handover of the keys

05

Rate and review your experience

After the charter, rate the boat and its owner so future guests can prepare with a clearer picture.

Know what to expect.

Every charter is different. Confirm these details with the owner before you request the booking.

  • Departure location, timings and itinerary
  • Guest capacity and captain arrangements
  • Price, what is included and what is extra
  • Weather, safety and cancellation terms
  • Accessibility needs and onboard facilities

Card numbers are checked and then discarded. The Lux Boat keeps only the card brand, the last four digits and an authorisation reference. Connect a PCI-compliant payment provider before taking live settlements.
